It's expected that WhatsApp will stop working on many old smartphones starting November 2021, which will prevent many users of the application from using the latter, and thus the inability to access messages, videos, as well as photos.
According to the official website of WhatsApp, the latter will stop working on devices that run on:
Android 4.0.4 or lower
and IOS9 or lower
Statistics indicate that approximately 43 models of old smartphones will become incompatible with the encrypted messaging app WhatsApp, and the following is a list of some well-known phones that will unfortunately lose the ability to run the app:

As a conclusion, it seems that the best and only solution, is the acquisition of a recent smartphone, which unfortunately will not appeal to many users, especially those with weak purchasing power, and again I say and I repeat that I do not recommend using modified versions of the WhatsApp because most of them are malicious and represent a danger for the privacy of the users.
